 Seize the Day

Hi, I'm Peggy and I have Alzheimer's

Life's journey has a way of surprising us, doesn't it? Some days, the sun shines brightly, and I find myself reveling in the joy of the sea breeze on my face. Other days, the waves seem a bit rougher, and I navigate through foggy moments. Retirement was supposed to be a different chapter, but here I am, embracing each sunrise with hope and determination. Through our blog, I aim to share not just the highs but the realities of living with Alzheimer's. I want to extend a beacon of hope to families walking a similar path, showing that amidst the unpredictability, there's still love, laughter, and the strength to seize every moment. Together, let's navigate this journey, finding solace and inspiration in each other's stories.

Love and Memory: Our Journey to Niagara Falls

Wow, June 20. Today Captain Justin has arranged for an Uber to take us to Niagara Falls. I was 12 years old last time I was here. It was with my Mom and Dad as we went to Expo 67. Our last family trip.

We were traveling in a camper that my Dad had rented from my uncle Don. It was a very fun trip. Mom and Dad celebrated their wedding anniversary on the trip. There was a big deal about hiding a bottle of champagne so that the Canadian customs would not take it. I think that may have been a misunderstanding on my Father’s part. ;-)

Navigating Life's Waters: A Journey of Love, Alzheimer's, and God's Grace

God’s grace…

I’m sitting here this morning. We have left Frankfort and are on our way to Ludington Michigan. I’m feeling very humble today. Tomorrow we’ll cross our wake.

According to Nebo, as of today we are over 3800 miles. We are on the lower end of the miles because we didn’t do all the side trips. Will hit some of those on our return trip heading back down to Florida.

Peggy had a great day yesterday. That changed about the time she went to bed it was pretty normal she’s putting her fingers in her hair trying to straighten things out and arrange it. Only problem was it went on all night.
